I chose this small pond to examine for microscopic life because I thought it would be a change from all the man made lakes I have been examining! However, it was very devoid of the diversity of microscopic life that I had expected to find! Only the Swampy water in Belmar Lake next to Kountze Lake had less diversity of microscopic life in it! It is all a surprise to me and is opposite of what I expected!

I collected water samples from the small pond in Bear Creek Park in late September 2005! The only days I saw any life to digitally capture was on the 4th and 6th day!!!
There was what appeared to be a Copepoda!! Pic With the Copepoda we get the Nauplius-larva of Copepoda! Pic There were species of Spirostomum also! I just take this to be a dead ant! Pic There was a Flatoworm! Pic
