I hope that this site gives a little more detail on the size of the Organisms I have Video and VIDCAPS of! I usually do not pay much attention to size as I have Nine Magnification settings on my Microscope I am constantly switching between the settings an pay more attention to getting the shot rather than the details of the shot!!
So first of all I should say a little about the equipment I have! I have a Jenva Val Microscope. It was made in East Germany by a Company which folded after the wall Fell. So, Parts are hard to come by as well as techs to work on it. I usually use the Jenaval Constrast with the Bertand Lens! I usually use the 12.5/0.25 objective Lens to observe and to Take Video with if the organism is large enough. I have a Magnification Turret on the Main body of the scope. It has three settings - 0.8X, 1.0X or 1.25X Times the Magnification of the Objective. I usually use the 0.8 Times the Objective Magnification to start off. The Eye-piece is a GF-PW 10X. So the Magnification I usually use is 100 times the size of the object!
The Video Camera I use is a Panasonic CV-950 CCD Camera. The Length covered by the Camera is at 100 Power approximately 1.1mm long. The heigth is about 0.76 mm. The three objectives I have are: 12.5/0.25, 25/0.5 and 40/0.65! With the Eye Piece Magnification and the Body Turret able to change the total magnification by 0.8X, 1.0X or 1.25X, I have 9 magnifications I can switch to to observe the specium without any oil imersion!
To get down to cases, I have provided these photos so that you can get a feeling for the field of vision I have with the setup and the general size of some of the organisms I have VIDCAPED or have a video made of! To do this I have VIDCAPED a Field of View of a 2 MM measurement slide! Under this VIDCAP, I have inserted another photograph and an organism you will recognize from the Shoot! The numbers give the total magnification! There are nine basic measurements corresponding to each setting I have with my microscope! Given that I crop the VIDCAPs and sometimes increase their size by use of the program Geniune Fractals, little can be interpeted from any given picture! But with the VIDCAPS and Video, organisms are often caught together so that you will generall know their size!
The VIDCAPS of the Measurements I have Made a ComParison of!
